LOTW – Tanlines

Tanlines – Settings (2010)

Tanlines have been making some fun instrumental tracks for about a year now. They’re dancy, definitely of 2010 and, as the name would suggest, tropical (a little Balie Funk influence). For Settings, Tanlines have wisely added vocals to some tracks, making it very listenable the entire way through.

This album is a good complement to Caribou’s Swim. In fact, yesterday, I drove around town listening to Swim on the way and Settings on the way back. It made for a great ride.

  1. john! totally! that EP’s amazing, esp. on the road. and Swim’s great too. Leave House is a clear homage to Arthur Russell’s best, and that’s certainly something I’ll enjoy. Have you heard the Dum Dum Girls’ record? It’s like, you know, all the other fuzzy girl bands out there but remarkably made. It’s the best thing to make sandwitches too. and coffee.. oh yeah, i started doing that at home now.

and everytime I do, i think of you.
