Hottt Filmmaker on Filmmaker Interviews
These directors love interviewing each other. Truffaut and Hitch made a book (Truffaut and Hitch sounds like a great buddy cop picture BTW), Morris and Herzog made a little movie and do interviews on the internet. And now there’s Woody and Godard. They contrast each other so much, which makes for a good interview. But they both still hate TV. Oh, filmmakers.

this is a great interview. i love the intertitles that godard uses to parody/emphasis WA’s ideas. while they sometimes contrast each other, they certainly have a similar seriousness to their craft with intermittant attempts at even more serious humor.
their apprehensions towards television are very similar to my apprehensions towards the internet/netflix cable/etc. the sense of place and ritual is completely gone! where did it go and what replaced it!?! (convenience, eh?)
